BITS LIMITED INTRODUCES THE CHARGING STATION – A SURGE PROTECTOR DESIGNED TO SAVE ENERGY FOR PORTABLE ELECTRONICS

BITS Limited announces the introduction of the new "Charging Station" Surge Protector. Designed to monitor rechargeable battery plugs, the Charging Station cuts power completely to them when the batteries are full. BITS Ltd. will be featuring the unit at their booth (#4320) located in the Sustainable Planet CES 2010 spotlight.

Customers can now save energy, money, and wear on equipment. Some example uses are:
  • iPod Docking Station; some may use as much as 6.3 watts when the ipod is disconnected. (Kill-A-Watt results)
  • Hair Trimmers
  • Cordless Drills & Power Tools - can draw almost 90% of the power use
  • Laptop plugs/transformers
  • PSP devices
  • Nintendo DSi
The Charging Station is the latest advanced power strip technology to come from BITS, and is built along the same lines as their Smart Strip (which is designed to save energy for devices like entertainment centers and computers that are stationary and usually plugged in).

The new Charging Station Surge Protector has 7 total outlets, including 5 used to save energy and 2 outlets that are always hot. Bits emphasizes that the new product is a fully certified surge protector with the same best-of-class protection and warrantees as the rest of the Smart Strip product line.
